Warsaw Board of Public Works and Safety Friday approved payments to A & Z Engineering for services on the Husky Trail road improvement project.
The board approved a $11,495.60 payment to the company for preliminary engineering and a $2,047.50 payment for right of way services.
The board also approved: • A $5,591 contract with Precision Computer to make improvements to the audio system at city hall council chambers. Ceiling and table microphones will be installed.
• Tabled a $23,280 contract with Graycraft Signs for a new digital reader sign to replace the existing nonfunctional sign at city hall.
• A $22,458 contract with Hostetler Door for the company to replace 10 overhead doors at Warsaw Street Department. Four of the doors are the older wooden doors and currently are not safe to open, according to Jeff Beeler, Warsaw street superintendent.
Beeler said the other six doors have gaps in them and are not insulated. Energy savings are anticipated with the new doors since they will be insulated with a tighter sealing door, according to Beeler.
• A $7,375 contract with Monoform LLC to repair and rehabilitate the manhole structure on Lake Street and Winona Avenue.
• A $120 payment to Brian Neher, stagehand for the Blues and Barbecue concert June 27 in Central Park. Opener WT Feater Band performs at 6 p.m. and Popa Chubby takes the stage at 8 p.m.
• A $1,061.60 semi-annual maintenance agreement for the generator at Warsaw-Wayne Township Fire Station 1 and 2 with Cummins Crosspoint LLC.
• A $20,405 contract with Beer & Slabaugh, Nappanee, for abandoning the Huron Sewer along the Norfolk Southern Railroad Company north of Hickory Street between Main and Fort Wayne streets.
• Salaries for Bayleigh Hanna, part-time summer administrative assistant at $8.75 an hour; Robert Ferguson at $16.60 an hour to serve as a Warsaw Street Department mechanic; and Roger Long at $2,053.50 bi-weekly to serve as assistant superintendent of the street department.
Teresa Sailor, Warsaw stormwater manager, introduced Chelsey Bradford, who is an engineering intern for the stormwater utility department.
