BOW Approves Contracts For City Hall

Warsaw Board of Public Works and Safety approved a contract for lead-based paint and asbestos removal at the new city hall site on South Buffalo Street during Friday’s meeting.
The $22,131 contract is between the city and Environmental Management Specialist Inc.
Diamond Environmental Services Inc. also submitted a $28,565 bid.
The board also approved a $5,000 contract with the city and American Structure Point for a strategic plan for the city.
The board also approved a $250 contract between the city and Paul Reith Appraisal Service for an appraisal for the Parsons property parcel.
The city is wanting to purchase the 3.451 acres of  property, in the southeast corner of the Oakwood Cemetery, for extra burial space.
The board approved salaries for street department employees. Randy Schmucker will serve as street laborer at $13.04 hourly; Orlin Miller as refuse collector at $13.96 hourly; and Richard Miller at $14.68 hourly as equipment operator.
The board also approved  street closure requests from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. for the Breakfast Optimist Club for the City Of Lakes Cruise In on May 20.
Street closures include Center Street from the alley east of Lake City Bank to Lake Street, Indiana Street from Market to Main Street; Buffalo Street from Market Street to the alley north of the Zimmer Hotel; and Main Street west of the Warsaw fire station.
The board also approved street closure requests for 2012 First Fridays for Center Street between Lake and Indiana streets and Buffalo Street between Main and Market streets.
The board approved Warsaw Parks Department catering contracts for Daddy’s Little Sweetheart Dance Feb. 10; Brunch With The Bunny March 13; and Girls’ Night Out June 26.The board approved a $23,013 contract between the city and Pro-Form Pipe Lining for sewer repair on East Market Street. Funds for the project are available in the cumulative capital development repairs and maintenance fund.
The board approved a $33,662.51 contract between the city and Baker & Daniels for services rendered as bond counsel for issuance of 2011 sewage works revenue bonds.
The board approved two release of mortgages at 1811 Hepler Drive and 710 W. Wilson St.
