Bourbon Destination Imagination Enrollment Set Monday

Posted
BOURBON – Destination Imagination open enrollment is at 6:30 p.m. Monday at Bourbon Park Pavilion
Indiana’s Destination Imagination Program is gearing up for another year.
The Destination Imagination program encourages creativity and self-awareness, while it teaches patience, flexibility, persistence, ethics, respect for others and the collaborative problem-solving process.
Destination Imagination’s programs teach kids how to work in teams to solve hands-on, open-ended creative challenges and help children improve their self-confidence and communication skills. Participants form strong bonds with their teammates and often build friendships that can last a lifetime.
According to a press release provided, kids have fun learning, and many continue the program throughout the remainder of their education. Children who participate in DI learn to focus, behave, think and test well. Participants are able to discover and display their unique abilities and talents in ways they may never have imagined.
The competitive program is open to children in kindergarten to 12th grade. Teams of two to seven children compete in elementary, middle and high school levels. It offers seven new standards-based challenges each year in science, technology, engineering and math, improv, visual arts, service learning and early learning.
Each challenge is open-ended and enables student teams to learn and experience the creative process from imagination to innovation. Academic tournaments take place around the world where teams have the opportunity to present their solutions to trained appraisers. Students have fun and gain confidence in their ability to solve any challenge. In working to solve challenges, teams learn 21st century skills to build on their unique strengths.
To learn more about the program, come to Bourbon Park Pavilion Monday at 6:30 p.m. This program is open to all school districts and homeschoolers.
