On Friday evening at the Tiger basketball game with Rochester, the community pitched in to assist with the Boomerang Backpack program. This program services Leesburg, Lincoln and Gateway students by providing free non-perishable foods over the weekend. Nearly $600 was raised. All contributors were issued a ticket allowing them to attempt a half-court shot for a Kindle Fire. Warsaw’s Steve Scott was the lucky winner by sinking the second of his two shot attempts from half court during the half-time activities at the game. The Kindle Fire was donated to the Boomerang Backpack program by Warsaw Foundry. Pictured (L to R) are Tracey Akers, Steve Scott, Blair Findlay and Will Petro.
