Bonnie Jean Gist, 84, Warsaw, passed away in Kosciusko Community Hospital at 6:30 a.m. Sunday, April 9, 2017. She was born on July 5, 1932, to Ralph and Cora Swartzlander Rohrer in Clunette. She attended Atwood School. She married Bobby Gist on July 31, 1976, in Warsaw. He preceded her in death on Aug. 31, 2015. Bonnie and Bobby moved to Arkansas in 1976, living there for 26 years. They returned to Warsaw on April 10, 2000. She was a homemaker. Bonnie worked for the Times-Union newspaper as a newspaper deliverer from 1960 to 1976. She was a member of the United Pentecostal Church, Warsaw, and also the AARP. She is survived by her daughter, Merla Mae (spouse Mitchell) Ousley, Warsaw; a son, David Jr. (spouse Cathi) Bryant, Nappanee; grandchildren: Josh and Natalie Ousley and Daisy (spouse Jason) Hollon, all of Warsaw; Tracey (spouse Matt) Ingle, Tina (spouse Scott) Allen, Dava Bryant and Matthew (spouse KC) Bryant, and Matthew Hummel, all of Nappanee; 11 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Warren (spouse Renie) Rohrer, Warsaw. She was preceded in death by first husband, the Rev. David Bryant; her second husband, Leroy McDonald; a daughter, Dava Jean Bryant; two sisters; and four brothers. A funeral service will be at 11 a.m Thursday, April 13, in the United Pentecostal Church, Warsaw, with Doctor Dan L. Cox officiating. Burial will be in Island Cemetery, Milford.
