LEESBURG - A body located in a bean field Friday afternoon could be that of a missing Warsaw woman.
Shortly after noon Friday, Kosciusko County authorities found a woman's body in a bean field south of Leesburg.
At the time the body was found, police were searching for Lara Saykosy, 19, who has been missing from the area of Whispering Pines Trailer Park since June 27.
The Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department, with the assistance of the Indiana State Police Aviation Section, were performing a search of the area where Saykosy was last seen when officers in a plane spotted a body.
Officers then went to the area, which was 30 to 40 yards east of Old 15 (Baseline Road).
When officers searched for Saykosy initially, they looked around the railroad tracks both north and south of the Whispering Pines Trailer Park, but concentrated more on the area south of the tracks due to information provided by the woman's mother. The Kosciusko County coroner was called to take possession of the body, and transported it to Fort Wayne so an autopsy can be performed.
The autopsy will positively identify the woman and determine her cause of death.
