WEST ALLIS, Wis. - Though he finished in the top three for the fifth time in seven races, ML Motorsports driver Chad Blount wasn't able to make up any ground Saturday in the ARCA RE/MAX Series season standings.
Blount, driving the No. 67 Mary Louise Miller-owned Monte Carlo, started fourth and finished third in the 150-mile race at Milwaukee Mile. He wasn't able to make up ground in the season standings as points leader Frank Kimmel won the race and Joey Miller remained second in points with his second straight runner-up finish.
With the win, Kimmel joined Blount as the only driver with two wins through seven of 23 races on the ARCA RE/MAX Series schedule.
Kimmel, a six-time champion looking for his sixth straight season title, qualified eighth and led 89 of the 150 laps at the famed one-mile oval. Justin Allgaier led 23 laps, while Miller led 18, pole-sitter David Ragan 12 and Blount one.
Rounding out the top five were rookie Erik Darnell and veteran Bobby Gerhart.
After seven races, Kimmel holds a 45-point advantage over Miller in the season standings, while Blount trails Kimmel by 130 points.
Next on the ARCA RE/MAX Series schedule is the Pocono 200 Saturday at Pocono Raceway. The race will be shown live on Speed Channel at 2 p.m.
