Kosciusko REMC Lineman Larry Bloom will mark his 30th year as a co-op employee on Wednesday Bloom started at the electric cooperative in 1981.
During his tenure at KREMC, Bloom has served as a meter technician and an apprentice lineman, completing his journeyman lineman training in 1987.
Bloom notes that the biggest change he has seen during his 30 years of service to the co-op is “the way we do our work. Technology has changed everything. It used to be we worked with paper maps, and now everything is computerized. It’s made a difference in how we get things done.” One of Bloom’s most memorable experiences was working with cooperatives in Alabama to help restore power after the devastation of Hurricane Ivan in 2004.
He resides in Warsaw with his wife, LaDonna. He has four children: a daughter, Karri; and three sons, Joshua, Jacob and Jared.
He also has three grandchildren.
Kosciusko REMC Manager of Engineering & Operations Bruce Goslee commented, “Marking 30 years of service at any job is a significant accomplishment. Marking 30 years of working in the heat, cold, ice and snow and at all hours of the day or night is especially significant. Larry Bloom has been a dedicated, hardworking employee, working hard to serve our members and going above and beyond the call of duty. He is a valued team member. We appreciate his work ethic and thank him for his dedication and service over the past 30 years and going forward.”
KREMC is a member-owned Touchstone Energy® electric cooperative serving more than 17,000 members through Kosciusko County and into surrounding counties.
