Fiber-wire work played a factor in a Wednesday afternoon accident near downtown Warsaw.
At 4:16 p.m., Clayton W. Rader, 34, Fort Wayne, was eastbound on Center Street when he entered the intersection at Columbia Street and struck a Pontiac driven by Merrilee R. Wagner, 74, CR 200S, Warsaw.
According to the accident report, Rader stated he did not see the stop sign at the intersection, a four-way stop, due to a Turnkey Network Solutions truck parked at the intersection to install fiber optic cable. Wagner stated she was unable to see Rader before entering the intersection due to the truck.
A witness statement to police supported both driver’s statements.
Wagner was transported to Kosciusko Community Hospital with complaint of pain throughout her entire body. She was later released.
Damages were estimated between $2,500 and $5,000.
