BLM March Leader Enters Pre-Trial Diversion Agreement For August ArrestFrank “Nitty” Sensabaugh, the man who was arrested after marching through Kosciusko County in August to support Black Lives Matter (BLM) efforts, has entered into a pre-trial diversion agreement with the courts.
Sensabaugh gained national attention – and local attention – in August when he and a group of supporters marched from Milwaukee, Wis., through Kosciusko County on their way to Washington, D.C., in support of the BLM movement.
The group was marching nearly 800 miles, picking people up along the way, with the goal of reaching D.C. for the 57th anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s “I Have A Dream” speech on Aug. 28.
They passed through Warsaw Aug. 12 and Sensabaugh and two others were arrested by Indiana State Police after receiving calls of traffic backed up for miles in the eastbound lanes of U.S. 30 near the Whitley County line.
Troopers spoke to Sensabaugh and asked them to walk and drive their caravans on the shoulder of the highway, however, police allege the group did not comply.
Sensabaugh was arrested and booked in the Kosciusko County Jail and charged with a Class B misdemeanor obstructing traffic charge.
Tory Lowe and Eric Ajala also were booked at the time.
After the three promptly posted bond, they returned on their journey and never returned to the area.
Prosecutors issued warrants for their arrest, but police said they don’t travel out of state to pick up misdemeanor fugitives.
On Monday, Sensabaugh entered into a pre-trial diversion agreement in Kosciusko Superior Court II that required him to pay a $334.50 fine, admit guilt to the crime he was charged with and agree to not break any criminal law at the local, state or federal level for the next six months. If he does those things, the case will be dismissed.
Lowe and Ajala still have warrants out for their arrest, according to court records.
