On Oct. 4, Sacred Heart School had a Blessing of the Pets service on the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi Day. The prayer service and blessing took place with an explanation of the rapport that St. Francis had with the animals nearly 800 years ago. Pictured are teacher Kallie Kirkendall and sixth-grader Page Desenberg holding the sixth-grade class guinea pigs.
