WINONA LAKE - The 17th annual Blackburn Run 4 Others will take place on June 20.
The event hosts both a 5K run/walk and a 1OK run. Race day registration and packet pickup begins at 7:30 a.m. and the race starts at 9 a.m. Registration costs $25 until June 7 when it increases to $32.
Both races begin at the Trailhouse Bike Shop in the Village at Winona. The 5K will take place along the paved greenway while the 1OK will include a mix of paved greenway and cross country running.
Proceeds from the race will benefit Water for Good, a nonprofit dedicated to combating the water crisis in the Central African Republic, Ethiopia, Uganda, Tanzania and Cambodia. Last year, proceeds from the race co-funded four wells in the Central African Republic.
“It is exciting to see the impact the race can have on the lives of the people of the Central African Republic,” said Doug Koontz, event organizer. “It is fun to be a part of Water for Good and their goal to double their impact in the next three years.”
