I just received my first flier advertising “Black Friday” deals on Thanksgiving Day. It does not seem that long ago that Thanksgiving was reserved for family. Good luck finding anything open.
Maybe it is me getting older , but time with family seems more important than getting $20.00 off on a TV. Life is short and children will remember the time you spent with them long after that special toy has been discarded.
I, for one, will not be shopping that day. I wonder how long stores would stay open if no one showed up? Maybe their employees would be able to spend time with their families also.
