Collier's Receives Sales Award

Collier's Heating & Air Conditioning, has received the Outstanding Sales Achievement 2010 award from WaterFurnace International, a leading manufacturer of residential, commercial, industrial and institutional geothermal and water source heat pumps.

Presenting the awards were WaterFurnace CEO Tom Huntington, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing Michael Albertson, Vice President of Dealer Sales Phil Albertson and Chairman of the Board Tim Shields during WaterFurnace's annual national sales meeting, held March 7 and 8 in Indianapolis.

"We are delighted to receive this award, which is a testament to the hard work of our employees and their commitment to the comfort of our customers," said Joe Collier of Collier's Heating & Air Conditioning. "Even as the national economy has struggled, it is exciting to watch our geothermal sales continue to grow, and we appreciate the fact that WaterFurnace recognizes our efforts and our achievements."

Collier's Heating & Air Conditioning began selling WaterFurnace geothermal products in 1988 and has watched that portion of their business grow as interest in geothermal energy has increased. Geothermal systems tap the free, completely renewable, unlimited supply of solar energy stored just a few feet below the Earth's surface and use that energy to drive heating and cooling systems in both residential and commercial buildings.

Homeowners who install a geothermal system before Dec. 31, 2016, can take advantage of a federal renewable energy tax credit of 30 percent of the total investment of the system. This tax incentive is retroactive to Jan. 1, 2009, and can be combined with state and utility incentives where available.

In addition to federal, state and utility tax incentives that enhance the affordability of geothermal systems, this cost-effective, environmentally friendly technology offers a host of benefits that includes:

- Free renewable supply of energy

- Efficiency ratings up to five times higher than those of ordinary heating and cooling systems

- Savings on utility bills up to 70 percent

- Reduced carbon footprint, since the system burns no fossil fuels

- Even distribution of heating and cooling for improved comfort

- Improved indoor air quality

- Quiet operation with no noisy outdoor units to disturb the environment or neighbors

- Safe operation that requires no open flame or fuel storage tanks

- Little to no maintenance required

Increased system longevity (an average life span of 24 years versus 15 for conventional air conditioners and 20 years for fossil fuel furnaces)

KCH Celebrates National Doctors Day

One of our most important relationships - other than family and friends - is with our doctor. Doctors are the gatekeepers to our health: in addition to providing preventive care and disease management, they serve as educators, researchers and advocates for good habits and healthy lifestyles. Kosciusko Community Hospital will honor members of its medical staff in celebration of National Doctors' Day on Wednesday.

National Doctors' Day annually recognizes the contributions of doctors around the country for their role in healing, patient safety, medical research and advances, and respect for human life and individual dignity.

Kosciusko Community Hospital offers more than 200 affiliated physicians in more than 27 specialty areas including: anesthesia, cardiology, colorectal surgery, emergency medicine, family practice, gastroenterology, oncology, internal medicine, nephrology, neurology, OB/GYN, occupational health, ophthalmology, oral surgery, orthopedic surgery, otolaryngology, pain management, pathology, pediatrics, plastic surgery, podiatry, psychiatry, pulmonary medicine, radiation oncology, radiology, urology. "One of the key factors in a strong and vibrant community is quality medical care," says Stephen R. Miller, CEO. "Kosciusko Community Hospital's physicians represent a broad range of medical expertise, right here, in the Kosciusko County community."

Kosciusko Community Hospital commemorated National Doctors' Day with a breakfast and lunch for the physicians on Thursday.

"Physicians play a key role in their patients' lifelong health and well-being," says Miller. "They have extensive knowledge of their patients' individual health histories, experiences, and areas of concern or health goals. They work collaboratively with each patient to help achieve and maintain good health, through all stages of life."
