Pat Knight, The Bird Lady Of Plymouth, rehabilitates song birds and is president of Songbirds of Northern Indiana, Inc.
Her kitchen is often occupied with a variety of recovering birds, from Mourning Doves to Hummingbirds.
She has actually put splints on the wings of Hummingbirds. Even after recovering, some birds still hang around her garden, or continue to fly back into her house for some time.
She has become so experienced with medication for small birds, that she hopes to someday write a book for use by veterinarians, since few vets have experience with very small birds.
Knight will talk about why these small birds are so valuable to us and to our environment, and how they are affected by actions. Knight will share her story, and her love of small songbirds, and let attenddes know how they can help the creates. Come to the Warsaw Community Public Library March 22 from 6:15-7:30 p.m.
