ABBOTSFORD, BRITISH COLUMBIA -ÊGrace College freshman Michael Kamami finished eighth in the 800 at the NAIA national meet this weekend to give the Lancers one team point.

Kamami, who hails from Kenya, qualified for the finals by running a time of 1:53.95 in the preliminaries to rank third. He improved his time to 1:52.46 in the finals, but fell to eighth place overall. Kamami holds the school record in the event with a time of 1:52.04 earlier this year. He also holds two other outdoor school records (1600 relay, 3200 relay) and three indoor school records (800, 1600 relay, and 3200 relay).

Grace had one other entry at the NAIA national meet as the 3200 relay team placed 12th overall at the meet.
