Biomet Completes United Way Fundraising Efforts

Biomet Completes United Way Fundraising EffortsBiomet recently completed its fundraising efforts as a United Way Pacesetter.

The company held a "coin dollar war" and that combined with pledge cards filled out by employees led the Warsaw-based orthopedic company to raise $184,000.

A dunk tank competition also was held.

The company is going to contribute 50 cents on every dollar raised by its employees which will kick the total up to $276,000.That contribution is a 27-percent increase from the company's contribution last year.

Bill Hartman, director of the Extremities/Bone Cement Team, also served as the leader for Biomet's pacesetter campaign.

His team won the dollar-coin war and celebrated Tuesday afternoon with a pizza party.

Members of the winning team are Ben Heilman, Bryce Isch, Nick Katrana, Tom Vanessa, Nate Winslow, Craig Allebach, Nathan Averill, Bill Hartman, Ben Joseph, Kristen Martin, Marcus Tholen, Jacob Wilson, Leanne Bundenthal, John McDaniel, Luke Alvey and Robert Taylor.

On the operations side, a competion also was held with the shipping, bracing and loaner departments winning.

The warehouse director is Carl Smith while the warehouse manager is Bob Sternberg.
