Warsaw's Brian Ross remains in second place in the Automobile Racing Club of America (ARCA) series after two short track races over the weekend.

Ross trails Bob Strait 1,435 to 1,390 after competition at Kil Kare Speedway in Ohio Friday and at Flat Rock Speedway in Michigan Saturday.

Making the biggest jump in the standings was '98 ARCA champ Frank Kimmel, who won both events to move from 10th to third in points, 50 behind Ross.

Ross, driving the Biomet/Damon Chevrolet, started sixth Friday on the .375-mile Kil Kare track but dopped to 12th at the end. On Saturday, Ross qualified his Monte Carlo on the pole at Flat Rock and was challenging Kimmel for the lead when the checkered flag dropped. Kimmel had dominated the final two-thirds of the race but had to hold off last lap charges from Ross and Eric Smith. Ross held on to second, Smith was third and Bobby Dotter finished fourth.

The next event for the ARCA Bondo/Mar-Hyde Series will be the Flagstar 200 at the two-mile Michigan Speedway on June 10.
