NORTH MANCHESTER - Billy R. "Bill" Shelton, 56, of Laketon, died at 6:14 p.m. Jan. 3, 2010, in his residence.

He was born Aug. 20, 1953, in Wabash, to Raymond M. and Hazel M. Barton Shelton. On June 18, 1977, he married Rebecca A. Hawk, who survives.

He worked at the former Peabody Seating Co., North Manchester, and for the past 13 years was a painter at Par-Kan, Silver Lake. He was a member of the Church of the Nazarene, North Manchester. He enjoyed his grandchildren, drawing, animals and was a die-hard Indianapolis Colts fan.

Surviving are a son, Jason R. Shelton, Batesville; a daughter, Megan D. (and spouse Denver) Calvins, LaFontaine; three sisters, Mary A. Sharp, Laketon, and Connie Garris and Linda (and spouse Steve) Lambert, all of North Manchester; and three grandchildren, Tanner and Dylan, both of LaFontaine, and April Shelton, Batesville. He was preceded in death by a brother.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at McKee Mortuary, 1401 Ind. 114W, North Manchester, with Pastor Darrell Cox officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery, North Manchester.

Calling is from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
