Billie Marie Brackett Winston, 86, of Peabody Retirement Community, North Manchester, died at 11:30 p.m. Feb. 10, 2012.
She was born Jan. 27, 1926, in Evansville, to William and Ethyl Bonenberger Garrison. In January 1942, she married Oscar Duncan, then remarried in December 1945 to James Brackett, who preceded her in death in 1994. In December 1997 she married Ed Winston, who died in October 2002.
She was a graduate of Central High School, Evansville. She was a resident of Kosciusko County for the past 13 years, where she was an artist, painting china dishes and dolls. She was a member of Warsaw Wesleyan Church.
She will be lovingly remembered by a son, Tom Sr. (and spouse Sue) Brackett, Warsaw; three grandchildren: Thomas (and spouse Wendy) Brackett, Warsaw; Shelly Sue (and spouse Carl) Baum, Kansas City, Mo.; and James Andrew (and spouse Jan) Brackett, Nashville, Tenn.; and 10 great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and two sisters.
Service will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, officiated by Pastors Gale Janofski and Wanda Carter. A private burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
