Bill Buck Wright, 79, of Warsaw, died at 2:15 a.m. June 8, 2010, in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw.

He was born Aug. 2, 1930, in Martin, Ky., to George and Nettie Pitts Wright. On Sept. 15, 1958, in Kentucky, he married Nova Jean Crisp, who died Aug. 18, 2008.

Having lived in Warsaw and Mentone, he was a cabinet builder at Mutchler Brothers Cabinets, Nappanee, retiring after 28 years. He served as E-3 in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, receiving a Purple Heart for wounds received. He was an avid gardener and woodworker.

Surviving are two daughters, Vannessa (and spouse Steve) Allen, Florence, Ky., and Karen (and spouse Bart) Aker, Richmond, Va.; four sons: Michael (and spouse Rhonda) Wright, Burket; Kevin Wright (and companion Carrie Woodall) and Edgar Wright, all of Palestine; and Steve (and spouse Jackie) Wright, Warsaw; three sisters: Daisy Barnett, Bucks Branch, Ky.; Mae Johnson, Marion; and Myrtle Johnson, Indianapolis; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Daryl Wright.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Mentone Cemetery with Pastor Terry Bradford officiating, and with military honors by members of Warsaw American Legion Post 49 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1126.

No calling is planned.
