Posted

A Warsaw man died Wednesday night after his bicycle was hit by a tractor-trailer attempting to pass him on Ind. 15, south of CR 300S, near Warsaw.

Todd D. Miller, 42, of Wildwood Trail, was pronounced dead at the scene after suffering neck injuries.

Miller was riding his bicycle northbound on Ind. 15 when a northbound tractor-trailer driven by Jerome A. Armstead, 48, Mobile, Ala., attempted to pass.

Armstead's cab cleared the cyclist, causing Armstead to believe he had safely completed the pass, but the trailer swung out and struck Miller.

Armstead continued driving north on Ind. 15, unaware of the collision, until he was stopped by police.

According to police, Armstrong was completely cooperative with authorities after he was informed of the collision.

Alcohol and drugs are not believed to be a factor in this accident.

The accident remains under investigation by the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department.

Warsaw Police Department, Indiana State Police, Claypool Police Department, Multi-Township EMS, Warsaw Fire Department, South Central EMS and Kosciusko County Coroner's Office assisted at the scene.
