Bible Teachings

Editor, Times-Union:

The Bible teaches all sin stems from three root causes: lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes, and the pride of life. People whose lives are consumed with these three principles are of the world and not of God. Things that are of the world are destined to destroy anything and everything in its path.

God hates sin and this is why God established the law and penalties for breaking those laws. God hates murder and requires all murderers to be put to death. It does not matter if they murdered a child, mother, father, or homosexual, the penalty is the same. Are homosexual lives worth more than others? God hates kidnapping and requires all kidnappers to be put to death regardless of whether they kidnapped a child, mother, father, or homosexual, the penalty is the same.

The Bible says, "If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them." This is right after the law against a man sleeping with his daughter-in-law, and just before a man sleeping with his mother-in-law or with animals. The Bible does not say "unless it is consensual." It does not matter if the sister, sister-in-law, mother-in-law, or chicken consent to the act, it is sin. People are not born to have sexual relations with their sister-in-law, mother-in-law, children, animals or same gender. It is a choice and that choice is wrong.

Not since before the fall of the Roman Empire has homosexuality been as prevalent or as public as in this country. While the law of God states that men who lie with mankind as with a woman are to be put to death, our justice system and society ignores those laws. The penalty of that and any other sin still needs to be paid. Only by belief in the saving Grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the blood that He shed to wipe away sin can the penalty be paid. Repent from homosexuality and get saved.

The Bible states it is the believer's job to warn the wicked of their wicked ways. If the wicked do not repent, they will still burn in hell, but my soul will not be held accountable. If I do not warn the wicked, their blood will God require at my expense.
