PLYMOUTH - Beverly Jean Bibler, 83, of Berrien Spring, Mich., and formerly of Plymouth, died Sept. 5, 2010, in her residence.
She was born June 21, 1927, the only child of John and Edith Gates Smith. She married Richard Bibler on July 3, 1947, in Plymouth. He was her love and very best friend until his death Oct. 30, 2006.
Because she moved so often as a child, books became her constant companion and, in her words, "reading became as essential to me as air to breath." This love of reading remained with her throughout her life. Her other two loves were her family and nature, especially animals. She spent her final years surrounded by animals on her son's farm.
Surviving are a daughter, Kim Wilkins, Niles, Mich.; two sons, Randy (and spouse Madge) Bibler, Berrien Springs, and Scott (and spouse Jill) Bibler, Kouts; six grandchildren: Nathan (and spouse Deanna) Bibler; Aaron (and spouse Jaimie) Bibler; and Megan, Jennifer, Ryan and Ashley Bibler; and two great-grandchildren, Mia and Brenan Bibler.
A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at New Oakhill Cemetery Chapel, Plymouth.
Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth, is in charge of arrangements.
