NORTH MANCHESTER – Betty M. Kamp, 85, of North Manchester, went to meet her Lord and Savior at 6:35 p.m. Feb. 20, 2012, at Parkview Whitley Hospital, Columbia City.
She was born June 22, 1926, in Kalamazoo, Mich., to John Clarence and Ethel Vivian Chamberlain Mowrer. On Oct. 21, 1945, she married Bob L. Kamp, who died Dec. 8, 2011.
She graduated Laketon High School in 1944 and was a member of Manchester Bible Church. She attended TOPS for many years and loved teddy bears and beaded necklaces. She enjoyed Bible study groups, reciting poetry for church functions, singing with the church choirs and testifying. She was an avid prayer warrior for her family. She was a homemaker, had worked in the dining room at Peabody Memorial Home and provided childcare for her grandchildren.
Surviving are a son, Danny Kamp, North Manchester; two daughters, Linda K. Kamp Hyden and Cindy D. Kamp Campbell, both of North Manchester; nine grandchildren: Linda Marie (and spouse David) McKee, Candi Kamp Brubaker, Kelly M. O’Hara Caudill, Jason M. (and spouse Betty) O’Hara, James R. (and spouse Traci) Hyden, Kara M. Kamp, John M. Hyden, Ryan M. (and spouse Sarah) O’Hara and Bob D. Kamp; and sixteen great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Congregational Christian Church, 310 N. Walnut St., North Manchester. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Servia.
Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at McKee Mortuary, 1401 Ind. 114W, North Manchester, and one hour prior to the service Friday at the church. ***** Memorials may be made to Manchester Bible Church, 11721 N. CR 300E, North Manchester, IN.
