SYRACUSE – Betty Lou Coy, 89, Syracuse, passed away at 7:26 a.m. Oct. 21, 2015, at Miller’s Merry Manor, Syracuse.
She was born April 21, 1926, in Syracuse, to Carl Robert and Mabel Pearl Bunger O’Haver. On Nov. 10, 1945, in Syracuse, she married Wayne L. Coy, who preceded her in death Jan. 19, 2007.
She was a lifetime Syracuse area resident and attended Syracuse High School. She was a homemaker, retired in 1978 from Syracuse Rubber Company after 20-plus years; and formerly worked at G & W Pizza and the Five & Dime Store, both in Syracuse.
She was a former member of the Church of the Brethren, American Legion Auxiliary and VFW Auxiliary, all of Syracuse.
Surviving are three sons: Douglas W. (and spouse Linda) Coy, Kimmell; Michael D. (and spouse Cathy) and David W. (and spouse Susan) Coy, all of Syracuse; 13 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Ty Lee Coy; five sisters: Helen Shock, Mildred Plank, Eloise Halsey, Pauline Speicher and Gloria Lutz; and three brothers, Emmet and Carl O’Haver and Marvin Shock.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Syracuse Cemetery, with Pastor Stan Owen, Syracuse Church of God, officiating.
Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse is in charge of arrangements.
