MILFORD - Betty L. Schmucker, 77, of Syracuse, died at 12:26 a.m. April 21, 2008, in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw.

She was born March 16, 1931, in Inwood, to Albert and Goldie Marie Cooper Magner. On Aug. 28, 1953, she married Freeman Schmucker, who survives.

Living in Nappanee and Syracuse, she was a homemaker and a member of New Salem Church of the Brethren. She served as a den mother for Cub Scouts for many years.

Also surviving are her mother, Goldie Marie Magner, Elkhart; two daughters, Cindy (and spouse Jerry) Yoder, Etna Green, and Patti (and spouse Tim) Seman, Wawaka; four sons: Michael (and spouse Cathy) Schmucker, Nappanee; Terry (and spouse Kim) Schmucker, Winter Haven, Fla.; Dennis (and spouse Penny) Schmucker, Elkhart; and Randy (and spouse Stephanie) Schmucker, Warsaw; 16 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; six sisters, Mary Zablocki, Helen Parson, Gloria Woodruff, Sandy Dash, Trudy Dudley and Judy Zimmerman; and two brothers, Jack and Arley "Bud" Magner. She was preceded in death by a sister.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at New Salem Church of the Brethren, Milford, with Pastors Robert and Larry Rice officiating. Burial will be in South Union Cemetery, Nappanee.

Calling is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Mishler-Eastlund Funeral Home, Milford.
