NAPPANEE - Betty L. Fairchild, 76, of 559 N. Clark St., Nappanee, died at 1:15 a.m. Aug. 9, 2007, in her residence.
She was born Jan. 25, 1931, in Milford, to Russell and Goldie Hollar Losee. On Aug. 16, 1948, in Milford, she married Robert L. Fairchild, who died April 25, 2004.
A lifetime area resident, she was a 1948 Nappanee High School graduate. She was a homemaker, a waitress at Wayside and B&B Restaurant, Nappanee, and worked in the print shop at Fairchild Printing. She was a past member of Nappanee Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary.
Surviving are a son, Robert Lee Fairchild Jr., Aurora, Colo.; three daughters, Mrs. Daniel (Darla) Schmucker, New Paris; Mrs. Roger (Cathy) Collins and Mrs. Gary (Annette) Manda, both of Venice, Fla.; 15 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers.
A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee, with the Rev. Paul Stauffer officiating. There will be cremation.
Calling is one hour prior to the service Saturday at the funeral home.
