Betty Jean HornBetty Jean Horn, 94, of Mentone, passed away at 8:57 p.m. on Saturday, March 12, 2022, at her home.
She was born on Feb. 11, 1928, in Marion, to Adison and Garnett Kesler Sanders.
She graduated from Tippecanoe High School and was married on June 29, 1946, at the Church of Christ in Mentone to Kenneth “Kenny” Horn, who preceded her on March 31, 1990. She was a homemaker and office secretary at various Mentone businesses. She lived in the Mentone area most of her life and formerly lived in Marion and Sebring, Fla.
She was a member of the Church of Christ in Mentone, was a foster parent and a former 4-H leader.
She is survived by two daughters: Mary Lou Shepherd, of Warsaw; and Joyce (Tim) Hughes, of Albany; son, Art (Pat) Horn, of Mentone; two adopted daughters: Annie Horn and Elizabeth Horn, both of Sebring, Fla.; seven grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother, Earl Sanders.
Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. Ind. 15, Warsaw. No public services will be held. Burial will be in the Mentone Cemetery.
