Betty Jane Taylor, 92, formerly of Milford, went home to be with the Lord on Jan. 13, 2018, at Elmhurst (Ill.) Hospital.
Betty was born to Warren Henry Moore and Lulu Moore on Feb. 6, 1925, in Trenton, Mo. She was married to Bill Williams; he passed on Dec. 27, 1963. She married Burton W. Taylor on June 28, 1964; he passed in 1993.
Betty honorably served her country in the Women’s Army Corps during World War II. She remained a true patriot all her life; no matter where she moved she always had a flagpole in the front yard.
Betty was a hardworking beautician for 30 years and enjoyed sewing in her free time. She was a good mother and had an unshakable bond with her children. Betty was a member of Milford Christian Church.
Betty is survived by a daughter, Arlene (James) Lea, Villa Park, Ill.; two stepdaughters, Constance Bailey, Detroit, Mich., and Donnelda (Billie) Dill, Bangor, Mich.; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two daughters, Lucinda Gail Artzer and Kathryn Williams; and a stepson, Ronald Burton Taylor.
A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 19, at Milford Christian Church. Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Milford.
Friends and family will be received from 3 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 18, at Mishler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Milford, and Friday for one hour prior to the service at the church.
