Betty Jane Shroyer, 77, of Jay, Fla., went to grace peacefully resting at home Dec. 30, 2011.
She was born Nov. 8, 1934, in Allen County, the first child to Eugene “Gene” and Cecil Holsworth Thorne. She married Daniel Shroyer, who survives.
In her youth, she was an active member of 4-H, Zion Church and Jackson Township High School. She enjoyed a variety of interests especially senior affairs and church activities but delighted in raising her daughter and three sons. Her chosen profession was respiratory therapist from which she retired in 1991.
Also surviving are a brother, Jim (and spouse Linda) Thorne; two sisters, Nita (and spouse Dave) Endsley and Mary (and spouse Bill) Albright; a daughter, Elizabeth (and spouse Dean) Dellinger; three sons, Lewis, David (and spouse Julie) and John (and spouse Lori); and grandchildren: Amy, Daniel, Robert, John, Katie Ann and Allison Shaw. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Juva Sterling; and grandchildren Carol and Jennifer Shroyer.
Memorial service for interment and fellowship for remembrance will be at 11 a.m. July 14 at Zion United Methodist Church, 6276 Old Fort Wayne Road, Huntington, IN. All friends and family are warmly welcomed.
