AKRON – Betty J. Reeve Tann, 91, of 7272 W. Nebraska St., Claypool (Beaver Lake), and formerly of Marion, died at 5 a.m. April 23, 2012, in her residence.
She was born April 25, 1920, in Grant County, Marion, to Herbert and Mabel Russell Reeve. On Sept. 4, 1948, in Richmond, she married Charles J. Tann, who died April 22, 1992.
She was a bank teller and worked in retail sales as well as being a homemaker. She lived in the Beaver Dam Lake area since 1986, moving from Marion. She was a member of Beaver Dam United Methodist Church and a former member of Friends Church of Marion. She also was a member of the Moose and Elks lodges, both in Rochester, and the former director of the YWCA, Marion.
Surviving are a son, Gregory Tann, Claypool; and a sister, Joan Beard, Marion. She also was preceded in death by a brother, Donald C. Reeve.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Hartzler Funeral Home, 305 W. Rochester St., Akron, with Pastor Butch Troke officiating. Burial will be in Grant Memorial Park, 1606 W. 26th St., Marion.
