NAPPANEE - Betty J. Bowling, 64, of 1051 E. Marion, Nappanee, died at 10:20 a.m. June 9, 2010, in her residence of natural causes.
She was born May 29, 1946, in Bremen, to Harold C. and Waneta Parcell Young. On Dec. 11, 1982, she married Clifford Bowling, who died May 15, 1997.
A lifetime area resident, she was a waitress and a bartender and owned Deeneene's Restaurant, Wakarusa. She was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion Post 154 Ladies Auxiliaries, Nappanee, and Whiskerville Truckers Association.
Surviving are three daughters: Gina Marks, Bremen; Rhonda Harrington, Nappanee; and Brenda Bowling, Milford; a son, Michael (and spouse Michelle) Marks, Wakarusa; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; seven sisters: Donna (and spouse Lowell) Price, Mary Nethercutt and Karen Bowling, all of Plymouth; Carol (and spouse Keenan) Wynn, South Bend; Nancy Morris, Elkhart; Patty (and spouse Ron) Eutsey, Shipshewana; and Jessie Puffer, Goshen; five brothers: Ralph (and spouse Mary) Young, LaPaz; Clifford (and spouse Jacquelyn) Young, Tippecanoe; Roger Young, Nappanee; Donald (and spouse Tabitha) Young, Plymouth; and Richard Nusbaum, Goshen. She was preceded in death by a son and four granddaughters.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Bourbon.
Calling is from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday and one hour prior to the service Saturday at the funeral home.
