Betty A. Bear, 88, passed away at 7:50 p.m. Dec. 15, 2015, in Miller's Merry Manor, Warsaw. She was born April 15, 1927, in Mentone, to Glen and Ethel Ward Snyder. On Feb. 9, 1946, in Goshen, she married Merrill Bear, who preceded her in death Feb. 15, 2005. She is a 1945 graduate of Mentone High School and a lifetime Kosciusko County resident. She was a rural carrier for the U.S. Postal Service for 22 years, retiring in 2000. She was a member of First Christian Church, Warsaw, and enjoyed the outdoors and liked animals. Surviving are a daughter, Patricia Cole, Winona Lake; a pet dog, Boogs, her beloved yorkie who was her buddy and care giver; and her pet cat, Cookie. She also was preceded in death by a sister, Phyllis Snyder. Services will be at noon Friday at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, with Pastor Gary Boschain, First Christian Church, officiating. Burial will be in Mentone Cemetery.
