Staff Report-
The Rodeheaver Series for the Performing Arts at First United Methodist Church of Warsaw will host the Bethel College Concert Choir Sunday at 4 p.m. at the downtown sanctuary for a program of sacred choral music. This 98-voice ensemble has a longstanding tradition of excellence and has performed at the National Cathedral in Washington, D.C.; twice at Carnegie Hall in New York City; and also at the Crystal Cathedral in Los Angeles, as well as on several tours overseas. Directed by Professor Robert N. Ham, and accompanied on piano by Marilynn Ham, the choir performs music from all historical periods and in many styles ranging from classical to gospel. Also featured on the program, a smaller ensemble of 10 singers called the Voices of Triumph will perform several selections. This group, which is comprised of students from within the larger choir, is celebrated for its a cappella renditions of vocal jazz, spirituals, patriotic songs and madrigals. The Rodeheaver Series for the Performing Arts, sponsor of this concert, was established in 1990 to support and foster performing arts and artists in a manner which brings glory to God. Named for the Rodeheaver family, legendary for their development and support of Christian music, and long-time members of First United Methodist Church of Warsaw, the Rodeheaver Series has sponsored more than 75 concerts, recitals and theatrical presentations. The performance is free of charge, and the public is invited to attend. First United Methodist Church of Warsaw is located at the corner of Indiana and Market streets in downtown Warsaw, is handicapped accessible, and provides listening assistance.
