LAGRANGE – Bertha M. Sprouse, 88, Warsaw, and formerly of Shipshewana, died  June 20, 2014, at Mason Healthcare and Rehabilitation, Warsaw.
She was born May 19, 1926, in Allen County, to Harry C. and Viola J. Warner Porter. On May 24, 1943, in LaGrange, she married Charles E. Sprouse, who preceded her in death Feb. 1, 2002.
She lived in Stroh until 1985 when she moved to Shipshewana. In 2003, she moved to Warsaw to live with her family. She was a homemaker and attended the Stroh Church of God and the Living Stone Christian Fellowship Church in Middlebury.
Surviving are a daughter, Thelma (and spouse Clair) Milleman, Warsaw; a son, Jerry (and spouse Joyce) Sprouse, New Palestine; three grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and a sister, Audra King, Stroh. She was preceded in death by her parents; five sisters: Edna Elston, Esther McClish, Betty Humes, Virginia Fuller and Dorothy Porter; and three brothers, Alvin, Clarence and Chester Porter.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Frurip-May Funeral Home, 309 West Michigan St., LaGrange, with The Rev. Dennis Bollenbacher officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, LaGrange.
Calling will be from noon until the time of service Tuesday at the funeral home.
