Bernard D. KuhnMENTONE – Bernard D. Kuhn, 90, of rural Mentone, went home to be with his Lord and Savior and his beautiful wife at 3:35 p.m. Friday, Oct. 22, 2021, at the Seasons Care Home of Warsaw.

Bernard was born on May 26, 1931, in Fulton County, to the late Willard and Mabel Hoffman Kuhn. He was married on May 18, 1951, at the Beaver Dam United Methodist Church of Akron to Pauline B. “Polly” Whittenberger, who preceded him in death on Jan. 7, 2015.

Bernard was a 1949 graduate of Beaver Dam High School.  He served his country proudly in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He had been a farmer all of his life as well as working for the Kosciusko County Highway Department and Sun Metal of Warsaw.

He was a longtime member of the Burket United Methodist Church. He could be seen frequently all around the area singing with the Friends Quartet. He enjoyed traveling on bus trips with his wife and many friends. Bernard worked the land with his John Deere machinery.

He is survived by his daughters: Beverly and husband Randy Romine, of Etna Green; and Brenda and husband Donnie Lynch, of Warsaw; sons: Jeff Kuhn and Debbi Taylor, of Burket; and Greg and wife Lee Kuhn, of Burket; grandchildren: Kerry, Cory, Kylie, Kayla, Ashley, Hannah and Lacey; 11 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Tona Huff of Burket.

Bernard was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Polly; and brothers: Virgil and Donald Kuhn.

Visitation hours will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 27 at King Memorial Home, 101 N. Tucker St., Mentone.

The funeral service will be held at noon, Thursday, Oct. 28 at King Memorial Home, Mentone, with Pastor Duane Kline officiating.

The interment will take place in the Harrison Center Cemetery, Etna Green, next to his wife. Graveside military rites will be performed by the American Legion Post #49, of Warsaw.
