Bernard “Bernie” A. Sikora, 81, Beaver Dam, passed away at 4:16 a.m. March 5, 2015, at Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home, Fort Wayne. He was born July 26, 1933, in Byesville, Ohio, to John G. and Josephine A. Jurcak Sikora. On March 8, 1969, in Fort Wayne, he married Lois E. Dill, who survives in Beaver Dam. He was a 1951 graduate of St. Benedict School, Cambridge, Ohio. He attended Ohio State University and graduated with his associate’s degree in business management from Purdue University. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He lived in Beaver Dam since 1973, having moved there from Fort Wayne. He was a foreman for ITT. He was a member of Knights of Columbus, American Legion and Elks Lodge, all of Ohio. He loved his dogs, enjoyed shooting his rifles, sitting outside to enjoy nature and watching college football, especially Ohio State and Purdue. He and Mike had a great time restoring a springtime yellow 1966 Mustang. He shared in family time, camping in the backyard, going to air shows and taking a special trip to Disney World in 2010. He gave a gold dollar coin for each year being celebrated of the grandchildren’s birthdays, and he also gave them a gold dollar coin for every “A” they earned on their report cards. Also surviving are two sons, John (and spouse Beth) Sikora, Pierceton, and Michael “Mike” (and spouse Michele) Sikora, Warsaw; four grandchildren: Hannah, Sean, Alicia and Logan; two sisters, Joanne (and spouse Richard) Sebek, Chino Hills, Calif., and Therese (and spouse David) Compton, Westfield; one brother, Francis “Frank” Sikora, Birmingham, Ala. He was preceded in death by a brother, John A. Sikora, who died July 16, 1941. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Titus Funeral Home, with Pastor David Hummel, Trinity United Methodist Church, Warsaw, officiating. Burial is in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw, with military honors by Warsaw’s American Legion Post #49 and VFW Post #1126.
