Bernadine A. BlaireBernadine A. Blair, age 80, of Warsaw, passed away Tuesday, March 31, 2020, at 7:30 p.m. in her residence.
She was born Dec. 16, 1939, in Carteret, N.J., to Michael and Irene Gombos Hila. She was united in marriage to Roger Blair in Paintsville, Ky., on Jan. 15, 1980.
Bernadine graduated from Carteret High School in New Jersey and continued her education at Naples, Fla., obtaining a degree in nursing. She was employed as an executive secretary at the Bowen Center, Collier County, Fla., office. She also worked at the Salvation Army as a secretary and a member of the Salvation Army Women’s League. Bernadine loved her family and her dog, Ginger. She enjoyed reading, jewelry, sewing, gardening and crafts.
Survivors include husband, Roger Blair, of Warsaw; children: James (Debbie) Tedesco, of Naples, Fla.; Marc (Lyli) Denz, of Evansville; Noreen (Larry) Priser and Gene (Amanda) Denz, both of Warsaw; stepdaughters, Terrie (Bill) Landrum-Prater and Kris (Ken) Allen, both of Warsaw. She is also survived by a sibling, Michaeline Odom, of Long Branch, N.J.; 13 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Doris Newshafer; and granddaughter, Tiffaneé Landrum.
Visitation hours are scheduled from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 3 at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. Visitation is limited to 10 persons at a time, please use good judgement on length of visit. Bernadine’s funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 4 in the funeral chapel. Pastor Charles Trout will officiate with interment in Hillcrest Cemetery, Pierceton.
