Benefit Car Wash Set For June 8

Posted
A benefit car wash for Michael Key, a single father from Roann with leukemia, will be June 8 in Warsaw.
Key, who is raising a 14-year-old son, was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia in April 2012. He was in complete remission but relapsed in January, according to fundraiser organizer Trish Robbins.
Key went through another induction chemotherapy and was said to be in remission again, but was recently told the leukemia has entered his central nervous system. He has since gone blind in both eyes.
Key was sent home from the hospital and is now seeking alternative treatments, which are not covered by insurance.
The car wash to help him with expenses is June 8 from noon to 5 p.m. Tickets are $5 per wash and may be purchased in advance.
The sponsors are Albertson’s Sport Shop, 3400 E. U.S. 30, and Lake City Honda, 3426 E. U.S. 30. The car wash will be held in the lot between both businesses.
