Ben Rice announced his decision to withdraw from the race for the Warsaw Community Schools Board of Trustees, District 7.
“Running for school board has been a remarkable experience, and I am deeply grateful for the encouragement, support, and kindness shown to me by friends, family, neighbors and community members throughout this process. The conversations I've had over the past several months have only strengthened my belief in the importance of our schools and the commitment that the people of Warsaw have to the success of our students, teachers and families,” Rice said in a provided news release. “While I will no longer be an active candidate, Indiana election deadlines have passed, and my name will remain on the ballot for the November election.”
Rice said he wanted to encourage District 7 voters to support Ryan Parker.
“Ryan is a good man who genuinely cares about our community and about the future of Warsaw Community Schools. He brings a unique perspective to the role, approaches challenges thoughtfully and is committed to serving students and families in a positive and constructive manner,” Rice said in his release. “I am confident Ryan will represent District 7 well and will do an excellent job as a member of the Warsaw Community Schools Board of Trustees. For those who had planned to support my candidacy, I respectfully ask that you consider casting your vote for Ryan.”
Rice said he remains invested in the future of WCS and will continue to serve on the Warsaw Education Foundation board, supporting efforts that help students succeed and strengthen the community.
Rice thanks everyone who offered support, encouragement and friendship during this campaign, saying it has been a privilege to be considered for this opportunity to serve.
