Ben "Benny Ray" Hoskins, 53, of 1071 Pike Shore Drive, Warsaw, passed away at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, of a massive heart attack July 20, 2007.
He was born Nov. 8, 1953, in Barbourville, Ky., to Mose "Sam" and Betty Bingham Hoskins.
He moved to Warsaw from Kentucky when he was 6 weeks old. He graduated from Warsaw High School in 1972. He spent the following 25 years in San Francisco, Calif. He returned to Warsaw in 1998.
He loved his family, and his family loved him. He was artistic with oils, water colors and pencils. He was employed at Anderson Greenhouse, where he designed beautiful arrangements for people's enjoyment. He was helpful in the spring with customers, and advised them with their planting needs. His smile lightened everyone's life.
Left to mourn is one brother, Scott (and wife Jeri) Hoskins, Warsaw; three sisters: Mrs. Richard (Darla) Radcliff, San Francisco; Mrs. Mark (Marsha) Sompayrac, Richmond, Va.; and Mrs. Kip (Rita) Klopfenstein, Parma, Mich; five nephews: Matt (and wife Leah) Hoskins and family, Cameron, Cole, Chloe, and Callen; Ben and Nick Radcliff, Will and Luke Sompayrac, Andrew and Abby (his only niece whom he dearly loved) Klopfenstein. He was preceded in death by his father and baby sister, Glenda.
He will be missed by an uncle, aunts, many cousins, friends and his faithufl dog, Max.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, with Pastor Don Horn oficiating.
Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
