FORT WAYNE — Ben “Benifred” Franklin Chapin, 76 years young, bid farewell to this world on Friday, June 9, 2017.
Ben was born in 1940 to Hugh and Geraldine Chapin. He received his Master of Science degree from Butler University in 1970 and went on to teach biology for many years for the Indianapolis school system. Ben was also a Century 21 Gold Key Realtor and also enjoyed his many years meeting people and selling many people their first home.
Ben will be dearly missed by his dog, Calvy, and best friend, Cris, who said, “He loved his daily walks and baked the best apple pie that ever touched my taste buds. His intellect, theory of life and wisdom was a rare find and will always be drawn upon and remembered by those who were fortunate enough to know and regard him as their friend.”
A private memorial and dispersal of Ben’s ashes will be held at a later date.
