Warsaw Police Department Officer Bryan Sherwin assesses an accident Thursday morning in which a pickup ended up belly-up in Pike Lake. Kenneth W. Holder, 28, of Middlebury, told police he was looking for a cross street and, when he started across the road, it was slick with ice. Holder's pickup went through the roadway, struck the bridge support and slid down the embankment before rolling over into the water. The 8:45 a.m. accident occurred on East Arthur Street, east of Poppy Street, in Warsaw. Holder complained of shoulder pain and was treated at Kosciusko Community Hospital and released. Damage is estimated at $5,000 to $10,000 to Holder's pickup; $2,500 to $5,000 to the bridge and less than $750 to a sign that also was struck in the accident. Photo by Gary Nieter, Times-Union
