Bell Aircraft Museum, Mentone, received $1,000 toward the painting of a Bell 47-H helicopter from the Kosciusko REMC Round-Up Fund, a component fund of the Kosciusko County Community Foundation. This completed the restoration of the helicopter that is now on display in the Lawrence D. Bell Aircraft Museum at 210 S. Oak St., Mentone. Lawrence D. Bell is a native son of Mentone and became an aviation pioneer who was instrumental in aviation history. Pictured is the Bell 47-H helicopter, one of only 33 ever made. No assembly line was ever used to produce these helicopters. The Bell 47-H was Lawrence Bell's choice for his personal local transportation. The KREMC Round-Up grant applied toward painting the helicopter helped in the completion of the restoration.
