A friend just returned to her job Monday after a 2-1/2-month medical leave. She was doing well until she went out on the floor to do something and a customer commented that she looked like a hippie with her scarf tied around her head. He couldn't believe Wal-mart hired hippies now.
She had the scarf on because she's lost a lot of her hair from chemo. She came to the back room in tears because of the comment. So if you're the one that made that comment, please think before you speak next time. Even young people (25 years old) can have cancer and your comments can be very hurtful.
