Beaman Home Wants To Interview Survivors Of Violence For State Project
Posted
Staff Report-
Beaman Home is seeking stories from domestic or sexual violence survivors.
The shelter would like to hear from survivors of domestic or sexual violence or abuse who are part of the local community and would be willing to share their stories in confidence.
The project is in partnership with Indiana Coalition Against Domestic Violence. It will use interviews with survivors to inform the state what the community and its survivors need that is not currently accessible, as well as what the community properly provides for its survivors.
Having sought the services of The Beaman Home or any other shelter is not required to be interviewed.
Survivors who agree to share their story will receive a Walmart gift card as a thank-you for being willing to speak about their experience.
Interviews will take about an hour and a half, and all information will be confidential. No personal identifying information will be shared.
Responses to the interview questions will be shared with selected state workers who analyze material from the stories to improve statewide response to abuse.
Anyone interested should call Beaman’s hotline at 877-725-9363 or 574-267-7701.
