NORTH MANCHESTER - Both buildings at Manchester Junior-Senior High School were put on lockdown this morning after a pair of young men were seen carrying a gun.
According to the North Manchester Police Department, several town residents called to report two young men walking on Sycamore Street carrying a long gun around 7:21 a.m. today.
The school buildings were put on lockdown as a safety precaution while officers tried to locate the young men.
Around 7:36 a.m., the young men, ages 16 and 20, were found on a porch at a residence about three blocks away from the school. The BB gun they were carrying was at a home two blocks from where the two were found.
The men, who are not students, said they had been in a wooded area shooting the BB gun and were walking home when they were seen.
After further investigation, the school was informed that the men did not pose a threat to the school.
