Roger and Marilyn Bayak, Goshen, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Sunday. Roger and the former Marilyn Ferverda were married on Oct. 6, 1963, at Central Methodist Church, Muskegon, Mich., by the Rev. John Bunce. Roger retired as plant manager from Starcraft, Goshen. He is the commander of the Goshen Veteran’s Honor Guard. Marilyn worked 37 years at Goshen College as an administrative assistant, and now works part time for Micrology Laboratories. They met in 1962 working at Brunswick Boats in Warsaw. Marilyn grew up in Silver Lake, and graduated from Silver Lake School in l960. Roger graduated from Muskegon High School. They have two children, Wendy (and spouse Kevin) Hite, New Paris, and Andy (and spouse Paula) Bayak, Osceola; and six grandchildren. The couple will celebrate from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday with an open house at the Goshen VFW Post 985, with lots of good Polish and Ukrainian food and entertainment by Luke Simpson.
