The Warsaw Community High School 2012 Battle of the Bands will be held in the Warsaw Community High School Performing Arts Center today at 7 p.m. Admission is $5.Audience members will use their ticket to vote for their favorite band. Five bands - "Cardboard Cosmonauts," "Cops! After Josh's," "Iltia," "A Show of Hands" and "Triforce" - will compete. Performing as an opening act will be "Static Vortex." The WCHS Jazz Band will perform as the votes are being tallied. The band with the most audience votes receives $500. The band with the second greatest number of votes receives $200. A "Best Instrumentalist" award of $50 will be given to the student displaying outstanding musical talent on their instrument. The "Best Instrumentalist" will be selected by independent judge John Finken, a member of the bands CODA and Moxie. All proceeds from the Battle of the Bands will benefit the Warsaw Band Boosters.
